Adult courses

 

We have four different levels for adults. The courses are based on the three R’s: Relax, Rhythm, Range – Be relaxed in the water, practicing breathing technique and rhythm of movement in the water through mainly crawl. Range is all about learning how to swim at different speeds and distances

NB! We also arrange Swim Camps for swimmers, triathletes and people in general.

 

Voksen nivå 1 (Relax)

Basic courses for adults who can not swim or are afraid to stay in deep water without aids. The course is adapted to the participants needs.

Grunnkurs for voksne som ikke kan svømme eller er redd for å oppholde seg på dypt vann uten hjelpemidler. Kurset tilpasses deltagernes behov.

Objectives:

  • Getting used to the water
  • Having your head under water
  • Floating on the bally and back
  • Kicking off from the wall and gliding
  • Kick
  • Getting familiar with crawl
  • Being comfortable in deep water

The course is held at Sogn bad

Voksen Nivå 2 (Rythm)

This course is intended for adults who can manage without assistance in deep water, and who wants to learn basic crawl technique. The main focus is on the crawl, but we also go through some backstroke.

Requirements:

  • Able to stay on the deep end without assistance
  • Able to dive and float
  • some familiarity with crawl

Objectives:

  • Kicking of the wall and gliding
  • Kick (with and without a kickboard)
  • Breathing technique
  • Rotation
  • Strokes
  • Practice diving from block
  • Practicing a flip turn

Distance goal: 25m crawl

The instructor writes a plan for every class that the participants follow. The instructor and participants can together find activities and exercises that may be included in the curriculum.

The course is held at Sogn Bad.

Voksen nivå 3 (Rythm)

The course is designed for adults who want to learn advanced crawl technique. The main focus is on the crawl, but it also covers some basic backstroke.

Requirements:

  • Be able to swim a consecutive 25m crawl in 35 seconds or less

Distance goal:
100-200 meters consecutive crawl

Objective:

  • Advanced crawl technique
  • Be able to do flipturns

 Voksen Langdistanse nivå 4 (Range)

The course is suitable for adults who want to know how to practice swimming independently.

Requirements:

  • 200m consecutive crawl
  • 50m swimming in 1 minute or less

Objectives:

  •  100m crawl in 1:40 (requirement to be allowed in the Triathlongroup)
  • Advanced crawl- and back technique
